OUR HISTORY The North Carolina College
Personnel Association was founded in 1966 and was then chartered by the
American College Personnel Association (ACPA) in 1971. In just under
thirty-five years, NCCPA has emerged as a leader among the state divisions
of ACPA. We are proud of our recent accomplishments and awards from ACPA.
NCCPA was named the Outstanding State Division in 1990, 1994, 1996, 1997,
2000, 2001, and 2006 and has received the Award for Innovation in 1998,
1999, 2002, 2006, and 2007. Included are Outstanding
State/International Leaders: Leslie Rand-Pickett of NC State (2003), Shelly
Myers of ECU (2006), and Diane Reed of UNCW (2008).
OUR MISSION NCCPA, a state division of the
American College Personnel Association, exists to provide leadership in the
college student development profession, to contribute to the continuing
education of student development educators, and to offer networking
opportunities among its members.
OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY NCCPA recognizes that equal access can be achieved when individuals
